Lego’s Third Rally Novice Trial
November 4th, 2007
By Anu Maurya
We just got back from our 3rd Rally Novice Trial. It was indoors and the location was very crowded and had very poor sound absorption – all the noises of people talking, clapping, dogs barking was getting bounced back and echoed really loud. It was an extremely distracting and tense atmosphere. The course was laid out awfully tight, with too many stationary exercises next to each other.
Lego started off ok, but got very distracted with the spiral turns. Mr. Sherlock had to inspect every single spot, paint and deformity on the floor…
At a corner turn, there was a dog in his crate, probably about 3 feet away from us. Suddenly, that dog growled and barked very loud at Lego. This scared Lego a lot and he didn’t want to walk close to that end of the ring. It also startled me! But I just quickly acted like nothing ever happened, and continued to talk to Lego and moved on.
There was a 360 turn placed very close to a 270 turn – which made us go out of position and I had a tight lead at another station.
All these were a total of 3 points off; we got a score of 97. Lego made it to 2nd Place and he now has his Rally Novice title :)! We were awarded Red 2nd Place Ribbon, Green Qualifying Score Ribbon, Yellow/Green Rosette for earning a Rally Novice Title and a gift of a red hand towel with paw-prints.
