The Girls – Flurry and Twister

Twister and Flurry is what happens when your kids grow up and move out…Flurry was first, but of course she needed a friend, hence Twister.

Flurry
Flurry, being older, is a more serious dog, but a real lover. When she comes in the house the first thing she does is grab a toy and run around the house with it in her mouth. She can not sit still enough to be pet, she just wants that toy in her mouth, and to make her rounds through the house. In the evening, when let out to go potty, she eats the grass like a cow…chomp, chomp chomp, and then runs into the house for her nightly biscuit. If we are not quick with the biscuit she drools all over the floor. Flurry is a little leery of strangers, but after she knows you, all she wants is to be pet and loved.
Breed: Bernese Mountain Dog
Place of Birth: Watsonville, CA DOB: 2/23/2004
Nickname: Porker
Likes: Biscuits, toys, to hunt squirrels, to go for walks and rides in the truck.
Pet-Peeves: Doesn’t like it when you pet Twister.
Quirky Tid-bit: Likes to have her butt scratched.
Trivia: Bernese Mt. Dogs are wonderful, but we sure have a lot of dust bunnies running around the house….they have a lot of hair, and don’t do real well in the sun and heat.
Bernese Mountain Dogs worked as drovers and draft dogs as well as watchdogs in the farmyards, mainly in the Canton of Berne, Switzerland.

Twister
Twister on the other hand is like a puppy in dogs clothing. She loves everyone and is a big social butterfly. She’s not real coordinated and sits with her legs sprawled out everywhere…not real lady-like. She aims to please but her personality is so laid back that she doesn’t always follow the rules, but you can’t help but love that goofy, puppy dog look she gives you. She loves to come up to you real close and sniff your face and ears….and she never licks, just sniffs. This is her way of kissing. When she gets excited she moans and groans and talks her funny dog language. She is a very expressive dog.
Breed: Bernese Mountain Dog
