Meet Fuzzy

I met FUZZY at the Human Society Silicon Valley, May 2007 during my weekly visits as a dog socializer; one of the canines I’d never taken for a walk. He did ask me every time I went past his kennel with begging eyes. Ironically, I took him in as a foster pet for a week in Oct 2007 when his foster parents were out of town and did not have the heart to give him back. Now there’s not a minute without him.

Fuzzy wanted to say a special thanks to all the folks at the shelter for taking good care of him. These were his words: “woof-woof-woof-woooof”.

Very intelligent and understanding but I do find his rules a little hard to adhere to (sometimes :)). Loves the dog park and to go on walks and hikes.

Whenever the garage door opens he wants to hop in the car for a ride. He needs a lot of attention when I am not working. btw eating, watching tv etc. are not considered work. But when I am in the kitchen he never disturbs, he’ll lie down and follow me with his eyes.

Loves to be petted…no prejudice here…he’ll take it from anyone who’ll give it to him. A little uncomfortable around new people but doesn’t take a long time to gel.

Breed: Flat-Coat Retriever with lots of Chow
Place of Birth: Not known
DOB: Not known
Nickname: Boo
Likes: Play, tug toy, loves to be outdoors
Pet-Peeves: Vacuum cleaners, blow dryers
Quirky Tid-bit: Has a nice bed but never sleeps on it…likes to sleep in the corner with his head against the wall.
Trivia: Flat coats seem to take criticism (harsh voice or collar corrections) to heart and can get their feelings hurt easily. They often “shut down” when this happens and it can be very aggravating. You have to “make up” with the dog before they get going again sometimes. Trivia Reference: www.k9web.com
